In one of His most startling prophecies, Jesus Christ made a simple yet profound statement about the future: “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:37).

For centuries, readers have pondered what exactly made the "days of Noah" unique. Was it simply widespread violence and sin? While those were certainly present, a closer examination of the biblical text—specifically Genesis 6:1-4—reveals a deeper, more disturbing reality that involved a cosmic rebellion, genetic corruption, and the appearance of creatures that ancient history remembers as "giants."

Giants

This passage describes what researchers like Rob Skiba call “The Genesis Six Experiment.” To understand the days of Noah is to understand an event so catastrophic that it forced God to press the "reset" button on creation, wiping the slate clean with a global flood.

This article will break down this complex story, exploring the main players, the debate over its meaning, the historical timeline, and its chilling implications for the world we live in today (especially since it relates to the Talmudic beliefs held by some of the leading Zionists in the world today, many of who are intent on instigating religious wars).

Genesis Six: Where It All Began

Before diving into the story itself, it is important to understand the weight of the document we are reading. The Torah—the first five books of the Bible, including Genesis—holds a unique position in Scripture.

The Torah

While other books are believed to have been inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Jews believe that the Torah was dictated. God spoke to Moses "face to face, as a man speaks with his friend" (Exodus 33:11). This intimate, direct communication means that when Moses wrote about the origins of the world, the fall of man, and the events leading to the Flood, he wasn't recording legends or myths. He was writing down a first-hand account given to him by the Creator Himself.

This gives the narrative of Genesis 6 a level of authority that demands serious attention. It is the foundational story that explains why the world ended up under water and, as Jesus noted, what the world will look like just before His return.

Breaking Down the Text: What Actually Happened?

The key passage is Genesis 6:1-4, which sets the stage for the judgment of the Flood: "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose... There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." (Genesis 6:1-2, 4, KJV)

This short passage introduces several mysterious figures:

  • The "sons of God" (benei haelohim): Beings who are not human.

  • The "daughters of men": Human women.

  • The "Nephilim" (translated as "giants"): The offspring of this union, described as "mighty men... men of renown."

Pre-flood

The Great Debate: Who Were the "Sons of God"?

The most critical question for understanding this passage is the identity of the "sons of God." There are two main views, but one is deeply flawed.

The Flawed View: This theory, which became popular in seminaries after the 3rd century AD, suggests that the "sons of God" were the human descendants of Seth (Adam and Eve's righteous son), and the "daughters of men" were the descendants of Cain (the unrighteous son). According to this view, the sin was simply godly men marrying ungodly women.

As Minister Dante Fortson points out, the text actually implies the opposite of what the Sethite Theory teaches. It was the "sons of God" who initiated the action. If they were the "godly" line of Seth, then they were the ones who disobeyed God. The "daughters of men" (Cain's line) appear passive and innocent in the transaction.

Furthermore, this theory cannot explain the offspring. If this was just intermarriage between two human family lines, how did it produce giants? Kissing cousins don't produce 12-foot-tall offspring. The text explicitly calls the result "Nephilim," a term that implies "fallen ones" or "giants."

The Biblical View: This is the most ancient interpretation, held by Jewish writers (like the authors of the Book of Enoch and the historian Josephus), the early Christian church, and it is the view supported by the rest of Scripture.

The phrase "sons of God" (benei haelohim) is used in other parts of the Old Testament to refer explicitly to angels. In Job 1:6 and Job 38:7, the "sons of God" present themselves before God in heaven alongside Lucifer (Satan). These are clearly angelic beings.

Angels

Therefore, consistency demands that we interpret Genesis 6 the same way. The "sons of God" were angels—specifically, a group of fallen Watchers—who left their proper domain, took on human form, and mated with women.

This interpretation fits the text perfectly and explains the supernatural result: the Nephilim.

The Timeline of Corruption: What Happened and When?

To understand the full scope of the disaster, we have to look at the chronology of the early world. By synchronizing the biblical account with ancient historical texts like the Book of Jasher and the Book of Jubilees (mentioned in the source text and referenced by scholars), we can piece together a detailed timeline.

The First Incursion | The Watchers (circa 3550 BC): In the days of a man named Jared (whose name means "descent"), a group of angels, known as the Watchers, descended upon Mount Hermon. They made a pact to take human wives. Their leader was often named Shemihazah. This was the initial "Genesis Six Experiment." The offspring of this union were the first-generation Nephilim—massive, violent hybrids that began to corrupt the earth.

Nephilim

The First Judgment (circa 3050 BC): God did not ignore this rebellion. According to the Book of Enoch, the first-generation Nephilim were destined to destroy each other in internecine warfare within 500 years. The Watchers themselves were judged severely; they were bound and buried "under the hills of the earth" until the day of final judgment (Enoch 10:12). The direct angelic incursion was stopped.

During this period of relative peace, Enoch (the man who "walked with God") was taken to heaven without dying. Later, Noah was born. The text says Noah was "perfect in his generations" (Genesis 6:9). The Hebrew word used here is tamim, which means genetically pure, without blemish—the same word used to describe a sacrificial animal that had to be physically spotless. Noah's DNA was untouched by the corruption of the Nephilim.

The Latter-Day Corruption (The Days of Methuselah): This is a crucial point often missed. Genesis 6:4 says there were giants "in those days, and also after that." This does not necessarily mean after the Flood, but after the initial incursion, but still before the Flood.

The Book of Jasher fills in the gap. It says that in the latter days of Methuselah (Noah's grandfather), humanity turned away again. But this time, it wasn't just angels mating with humans. The text describes a horrific new sin: "...the sons of men in those days took from the cattle of the earth, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air, and taught the mixture of animals of one species with the other, in order therewith to provoke the Lord." (Jasher 4:18).

This was a corruption of "all flesh." It wasn't just humans sinning morally; it was the biological corruption of the created order. The genetic lines between species were being blurred. This explains why God told Noah to bring animals onto the ark "after their kind"—to preserve the original, pure genetic boundaries that man was trying to tear down.

This "latter day corruption" likely explains how Nephilim traits reappeared before the Flood after the first generation had killed each other off, and it explains how they reappeared after the Flood. The knowledge and the corrupted "seed" may have survived in the lineage of one of Noah's daughters-in-law.

The Science of Giants: How Big Were They?

The Bible and ancient texts are not vague about the size of these beings. They were enormous.

biblical giants

The Amorites: In Amos 2:9, God describes the Amorites as being tall as cedars and strong as oaks. Cedar trees in Lebanon can grow to be 120 feet tall. While likely a metaphor for their imposing strength, it paints a picture of beings that dwarfed normal humans.

The Sons of Anak: When the Hebrew spies went into Canaan, they reported, "we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight" (Numbers 13:33). This wasn't a metaphor for feeling small; it was a literal description of their perspective.

Og, King of Bashan: This giant was a remnant of the Rephaim (another name for the giants). His bed was nine cubits long. Depending on the length of the cubit, his bed was over 13 feet long (Deuteronomy 3:11).

The source author provides some staggering caloric estimates. A warrior like Og would have needed to consume over 20,000 calories a day just to survive. He could likely lift a midsize car. These were super-human beings, which explains why God commanded the Israelites to utterly destroy them—not out of cruelty, but because their very existence was a biological and spiritual abomination that threatened the bloodline of the coming Messiah.

The Post-Flood Problem: How Did Giants Return?

If the Flood destroyed everything, how do we see giants again later, like Goliath? The answer lies in the passenger list of the Ark.

While Noah and his sons were genetically pure (tamim), the text does not say the same about his daughters-in-law. The Book of Jasher records that the wives of Shem, Ham, and Japheth were chosen just days before the Flood. The most likely candidate for carrying the "corrupted" seed is Ham's wife.

Looking at the lineages after the Flood:

  • Canaan (Ham's son): His descendants were the Canaanite tribes—the Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites—who were famously giant-filled.

  • Mizraim (Ham's son): He fathered the Caphtorites, from whom the Philistines came. The Philistines produced Goliath and his four brothers.

  • Cush (Ham's son): He fathered Nimrod, the "mighty hunter" and builder of Babel, who is associated with the rebellious, godless world system.

Nimrod

The connection to Ham's line is strong. Furthermore, the Caphtorites settled in Crete. It is from Crete (Caphtor) that Greek mythology originates. The "gods" of the Greeks—the Titans, the Olympians—are believed to be giants with superpowers who interbred with humans.

Why It Matters: The Connection to the "Last Days"

This brings us back to the words of Jesus. He said the last days would be like the "days of Noah." For a long time, people assumed that meant society would be violent and sinful. While that is true, the unique marker of Noah's day was genetic and spiritual corruption through the hybridization of the human race.

If the last days are to mirror the days of Noah, believers conflate it with:

  • A fascination with the occult and spiritualism: Just as the Watchers crossed the boundary between heaven and earth, modern culture is obsessed with blurring the lines between the natural and supernatural.

  • Blurring of created boundaries: In Noah's day, it was the mixing of species. In our day, we see a cultural push to blur the lines of gender and biology, redefining what it means to be human.

  • The return of "mighty men of renown": We see a global obsession with superheroes—beings with superpowers who are often the result of genetic accidents, alien origins, or divine heritage. These stories are echoes of the pre-Flood world.

The "corruption of all flesh" in the days of Methuselah—the mixing of seed—is a pattern for the end times. Whether through advanced biotechnology, genetic manipulation, or a future spiritual deception, the enemy seeks to corrupt the human genome to prevent the salvation of mankind and to fill the earth with violence once more.

In conclusion, the story of Genesis 6 lays the foundation of belief for those who are chasing the end times.
